About Baby Serrano:
"They say it takes a village to raise a child.
We are humbly asking for your help to bring Baby S to fruition.
After starting the very expensive fertility process in 2020 and insurance benefits covering most of the costs providing a huge help to us at that time, those benefits are now obsolete as of April 2021 putting us in a very dire situation.
We were ready to begin screening our gestational carrier and starting the embryo process when we received the devastating news regarding our benefit changes. We will now need close to 30k to begin the process of creating embryos. You can imagine the pain in our hearts when we found out. After months of screenings, medications, doctor's appointments and bloodwork we were so ready to actually begin building our family and receiving the news felt like everything we've been working so hard towards, has been suddenly stripped away unfairly.
Going through this fertility process is the only way to have our own biological child. I am a cancer survivor and had a partial hysterectomy in 2018 at the age of 34 making me unable to carry my own child. We have no other children and yearn to be parents. It's absolutely heartbreaking to continue to jump over so many hurdles for something that comes naturally to so many others. We’ve continuously applied for so many grants without success and this our last ditch effort to have our wish come true.
