IVF is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. The embryo(s) is then transferred to the uterus.

IVF can be very expensive and out of reach for most families around the world. In the US, medications for a single treatment cycle can be around $9K and the cost of the entire procedure can go up to $30K.
